Registration ! When registering you may sign each character up under one name. After go to your control panel along the top of the site under the banner, click "profile" then "modify profile". It will redirect you to another page with blank spaces that are semi-filled in. The space that says "*display name" is where you enter your characters FIRST, MIDDLE AND LAST NAME like so: JANE ALEXANDER DOE. Remember each character has to have their own account separately.
Activity ! We at ABOL all understand that each and everyone of you have lives outside of role playing, but inactivity has been the death to many great sites. So the staff asks that you post at least TWICE a week with any of your characters. Activity checks will be drafted every so often to ensure that everyone is participating.
Word Count ! At BOL we have a word count of TWO HUNDRED words. That should be able to give the person you're role-playing something to work off of. This can either be one solid paragraph, or preferably two good sized paragraphs.
Graphics ! NO NUDE PICTURES PLEASE. The maximum width and length for avatars are 125x250. Signatures should not exceed a length and width of 500x500. Any images stretching the board will be removed and a PM sent with the image link and a notification from a staff member.
Chat Box ! Please, NO ROLE PLAYING IN THE CHAT BOX. The chat box is what it's named for, chatting. If you would like a chat play please use your private messaging center or add each other on a chat messenger (AIM/MSN/ETC).
Rating ! We're rated PG-13 here which means that violence, sex, and swearing will happen, but not in excess and no drugs. Now just because we allow it, it doesn't mean you should go overboard and have your character punching people or sleeping around in every thread. Drama is awesome but in moderation or it rots your brain out. If you really wanna go at it with your characters please fade out before any sort of sexual interaction occurs. If you guys are dying for some smut that is what your PMs are for.

Please, only post with the character that is in the thread that you are posting in. It get's VERY confusing when you don't. If one of the admins catch this, they will PM you asking you to change it. It's honestly not that hard to log out and log in again. This goes for posting applications as well, make a new account then post. Not that difficult. We also have an easy login area up in the welcome to make life easier for you.
That being said, only one character per account, even if they are twins. Seriously, I honestly don't care that its "easier for you" it makes it a lot more confusing for everyone. Please, just do one character per account, and make us all happy. You can make as many characters as you want, just make sure to keep them all active. By the way, for every three girls, one boy must be made.
We don't want any Mary Sue's or Gary Stus at this site. Everyone has weaknesses, even the prettiest of people. If we think that your character is acting like either of those, you will be warned.
Oh, and we ask you to not be so dramatic. We would like to keep pregnancies and deaths to a minimum. YOU MUST PM AN ADMIN FOR PERMISSION ON PREGNANCIES/DEATHS. But please not an over-dramatic death, like a world renown murder. If your quitting, don't just kill your character. Make them leave or something.
THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT! I understand that on this site as the roleplayer you are in control of how powerful your character can be. Unfortunately there are many people who do not know the meaning of 'restraint' and will take advantage of a system without set guidelines. So, I would like to address an issue that often comes up with sites concerning powers, and that issue is God modding and power playing. For newcomers to the role-playing community, here are the definitions:
God modding is when someone's character is capable of anything and is not restricted to limits/boundaries. For example, your character cannot be killed, or he starts moving entire continents with his mind. A not so extreme example is merely having a character dodging attacks and never getting hit.
Power playing is essentially controlling other peoples characters. For example...
Person 1: Character 1 hits character 2.
Person 2: Character 2 comes back around and throws him against the wall and character 1 screams as character 2 punches him repeatedly.
Otherwise, under no circumstances will we tolerate such behavior. It is not fun and is often insulting to others and to the site. Now before you mention it, yes, I am getting to that. What if its part of a plot? Yes. If you and the person you are currently role-playing with have agreed to a certain plot and have notified staff about it, then it is okay.
So, if we think your character is too strong, we will ask you to tone it down. Failure to comply after a few warnings will result in deletion of your character. password: don't fear the reapers
